Oceano Fresco recognized with the European Commission's 'seal of excellence'

The bivalve aquaculture company Oceano Fresco SA has just received a Seal of Excellence from the European Commission for its project EUROCLAM – 'Unlocking the potential of Euro-native bivalve species through science-driven aquaculture' (EUROCLAM – Deschaining the potential of bivalve species native to Europe through science-guided aquaculture). The distinction is based on an assessment made by international experts in the areas of science, management, entrepreneurship and investment, within the scope of the Program EIC Accelerator pilot of the Commission.
A world pioneer in the field of science-based aquaculture, Oceano Fresco bases its production of high-value clam species on a strong research and development (R&D) component. It was in this context that the company submitted the project to Accelerator , a program that aims to support excellent R&D projects promoted by innovative European SMEs. This recognition rewards the impact, excellence and capacity and efficiency of the implementation of the EUROCLAM project, which specifically aims to optimize production methodologies and leverage the breeding program of two native European clam species – ruditapes decussatus It is Venerupis corrugata , using advanced digital and biotechnological tools.
